Challenge Leaderboard

These leaderboards highlight the current state-of-the-art in error-correction coding for two emerging challenges for DNA data storage: photolithographic DNA synthesis and DNA decay.

To participate in the challenges, you can submit your codec to the leaderboard. Please note the requirements described here and the FAQ at the bottom of this page. The challenges and the Digital Twin for DNA Data Storage are based on the following publications:

Gimpel, A.L., Stark, W.J., Heckel, R., Grass R.N. Challenges for error-correction coding in DNA data storage: photolithographic synthesis and DNA decay. bioRxiv 2024.07.04.602085 (2024). DOI:10.1101/2024.07.04.602085

FAQ

Before submitting your codec, make sure your submission fulfills the requirements described here. If you are ready to submit your codec, please send an email with the following information to Prof. Dr. Robert Grass and Andreas Gimpel:
  • Name of the codec
  • Authors
  • Challenge type
  • Code rate of the codec
  • DOI of the manuscript (optional)
  • Link to a repository containing the code (optional)
  • Description of the codec (optional)
We will then verify your submission and add it to the leaderboard.

The code rate is determined from the codec's output, neglecting constant regions (e.g., constant adapters added to aid strand reassembly). Note however, that this definition does include any nucleotides added for error correction or indexing.

If a submission is marked as 'verified', it means that the submission has been checked by us and fulfills the requirements described here. If a submission is marked as 'not verified', it means that the submission has not been checked by us yet and its results are only based on the authors' claims.

You can test your codec for the challenges by running them online or offline. For more information, please visit the challenges information page. Note that the requirements for the leaderboard submissions outlined there will require offline testing.
